Servicing and repair

  • Unless otherwise specified, our watches are sold in their current condition without prior servicing. This approach allows us to offer the most competitive prices on the market, passing the savings directly to our customers. Upon request, we can assess a watch's performance using a timegrapher, providing you with a clearer understanding of its accuracy and functionality.

Most of our modern and neo-vintage watches are running within or near their original factory specifications and do not require servicing. Our vintage models are carefully inspected to ensure they run smoothly without any functional issues, though accuracy and water resistance cannot always be guaranteed due to their age.

  • When possible, we recommend that customers have their watches serviced by the original manufacturer, which can typically be arranged by contacting the brand directly or through an authorized dealer or boutique.

For those seeking a faster and more cost-effective option, we also offer servicing through our trusted repair partners in New York City’s Diamond District. This option generally has a shorter turnaround time and lower costs compared to manufacturer service. Please reach out for more details.

  • There is no single answer! Watches typically do not require servicing as frequently as brands often recommend, but there are cases where a watch should be serviced even if nothing is wrong.

While preemptive maintenance can help prevent excessive wear and reduce the risk of component failure, this is primarily a concern for vintage watches — especially those with scarce original parts or movements that haven’t been serviced in decades. Modern watches, on the other hand, are built to higher standards and often have readily available replacement parts, making frequent servicing less necessary.

As a general guideline, if your watch is relatively new and performing well, servicing should not required. However, for vintage pieces, proactive servicing can be a wise choice to ensure longevity.

  • Watches can lose accuracy for a variety of reasons. In many cases, this is due to damage—components may wear down over time or suffer instant damage from a hard knock or drop. Water damage is also a common issue, particularly if the crown is not fully pushed in, allowing moisture to enter the movement.

However, some causes of inaccuracy are less serious. Magnetization of the movement, for example, can easily be corrected with a demagnetizer. Similarly, a watch that appears to be running poorly may simply need to be fully wound, as a low power reserve can sometimes give the impression of poor timekeeping.

If you notice any issues with your watch’s accuracy, we recommend consulting a professional watchmaker or repair shop for a proper diagnosis.
