Breitling’s history is deeply tied to aviation, from pioneering cockpit clocks in the 1930s to introducing the Ref. 765 AVI, a groundbreaking pilot’s watch, in the 1950s. The manufacture draws inspiration from the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, a highly maneuverable 1938 pursuit plane known for its durability and iconic shark-mouth nose art, in conceptualizing this watch. Designed for the rigors of vintage cockpits, this chronograph features large Arabic numerals for legibility, a knurled bidirectional bezel, and a robust stainless steel bracelet with a mix of polished and brushed finishes. The 42mm case houses the COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 23 movement, offering a 48-hour power reserve.
