The IWC Big Pilot’s Watch ref. IW500201 is a modern reimagining of IWC’s 1940s ref. 431, preserving the utilitarian spirit and commanding presence of the original. Its 46mm stainless steel case features an oversized “fish” crown and a soft iron inner cage providing magnetic resistance up to 32,000 A/m, ensuring exceptional durability. The matte black dial delivers superb legibility with luminous Arabic numerals, hands, and a discreet date at 6 o’clock, complemented by a power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock. Inside, the in-house calibre 5011 movement offers a seven-day power reserve and a finely decorated rotor engraved with the brand’s “Probus Scafusia” motto.

This watch is in excellent condition, showing minor signs of normal wear including scratches and dings. The visible wear is more noticeable on the polished bezel compared to the brushed case. There are some light marks on the crystal that are only visible in certain lighting. The movement is running properly with all functions operating as intended, though the service history is unknown. Additional photos are available on request.
