Inspired by Breitling’s reference 637, a WWII-era stopwatch worn on the thighs of bomber pilots, the Aviator Super 8 is a distinctive and sizable homage to one of the brand’s earliest timing instruments. The reference EB2040101L1X1 is housed in a robust 46mm titanium case with an oversized 50mm bidirectional rotating bezel, paired with a vintage-inspired brown single-piece leather strap. Though not a stopwatch itself, the Super 8 faithfully recreates the almost brutalist heft and strictly utilitarian design of the original, including the prominent bezel and red triangle on the crystal for elapsed-time tracking. On the dial, the bold Arabic numerals and broad hour and minute hands are fully luminescent, complemented by a white seconds hand that echoes the ornate central hand of an original 637 stopwatch. Powering the watch is Breitling’s manufacture caliber B20 (based on the Tudor caliber MT5612), offering strong chronometric performance with enhanced resistance to shock and vibration.

This watch is in great condition, showing modest signs of normal wear including minor scratches and light scuffs on the case. The metal loops and buckle on the strap show more moderate wear. The movement is running properly with all functions operating as intended. Additional photos and timegrapher results are available on request.
