The Cartier Tank Américaine ref. WSTA0044 carries forward the lineage of Cartier’s iconic Tank, first conceived in 1917 and inspired by the stark geometric lines of the Renault FT-17. Drawing from the elongated profile of the famed Tank Cintrée, the Américaine design was first introduced in 1989 and offered a bolder, more modern presence with its wider, thicker case. This contemporary iteration updates the model with a stainless steel construction and an automatic movement, marking a shift from the precious metals and manual or quartz calibers of earlier generations. Its brushed silver dial with Roman numerals, octagonal crown set with a blue spinel, and blued-steel sword-shaped hands preserve the classic Cartier hallmarks that define the Tank legacy.

This watch is in great condition, showing minor signs of normal wear including scratches and dings. The movement is running properly with all functions operating as intended. Additional photos are available on request.

This watch comes with its original box and the purchase receipt from the original owner, who bought it at Cartier’s Hudson Yards boutique in New York City. Additionally, it includes inspection documents from Cartier related to repair requests for the deployant clasp, during which Cartier confirmed that no servicing was required for this watch as of April 2025.
