This Tank Solo delivers Cartier's iconic century-old design in 18k gold, with a stainless steel caseback for an approachable entry into precious metal.
The Cartier Tank traces its lineage to 1917, when Louis Cartier drew inspiration from the Renault FT-17 tank's geometric form to create one of watchmaking's most enduring designs. Introduced in 2004, the Tank Solo succeeded the Must de Cartier line as the brand's entry-level Tank, bringing the house's most iconic silhouette to a broader audience. The reference W1018755 embodies this philosophy into precious metal territory, pairing an 18k yellow gold case with a stainless steel caseback, preserving the feel and presence of gold on the wrist at a more approachable price point. Cartier's familiar signatures remain intact, including a light silvered opaline dial with Roman numerals and a chemin de fer (“railway”) minute track, blued-steel sword-shaped hands, and a blue synthetic cabochon-shaped spinel set into the beaded crown. Completing the watch is a black alligator strap secured by a beautifully curved 18k yellow gold buckle.

This watch is in good condition, showing expected signs of normal wear including scratches, scuffs, and dings. Some surfaces of the gold case and clasp show light tarnishing. The movement is running properly with all functions operating as intended.
