The Grand Seiko SBGM003 holds historical significance as one of the first Grand Seiko models officially released outside of Japan, preceding its modern successor, the SBGM221. Collectors value the SBGM003 for its rarity and distinctive features, including a double-signed dial that nods to Seiko’s rich history. Measuring 39.5mm, this elegant GMT watch offers an independently adjustable 12-hour hand, which enables seamless tracking of a second time zone while also adjusting the date forward or backward. The ivory lacquer dial is beautifully detailed, highlighted by a hand-blued 24-hour hand and a gracefully curved seconds hand, all housed under a domed sapphire crystal and within a fully Zaratsu-polished case. At its heart is Grand Seiko’s revered in-house 9S56 automatic movement, offering a 50-hour power reserve and renowned precision.
