Nomos Ludwig neomatik champagner 1st edition ref. 281, complete set

Introduced at Baselworld 2015, the NOMOS Ludwig neomatik formed part of the brand’s inaugural neomatik collection, launched to showcase the new in-house DUW 3001 automatic movement. Measuring just 3.2mm thick, the DUW 3001 was the result of three years of meticulous engineering (not including the seven years devoted to developing NOMOS’ proprietary “swing system”), delivering remarkable efficiency and precision while maintaining a distinctly German character. Indeed, the movement is finished and constructed in true Glashütte tradition with a three-quarter plate, ribbed polishing, and tempered blued screws, all visible through the sapphire display caseback.

Produced only in 2015, the neomatik 1st edition collection comprised ten references across five models — Tangente, Minimatik, Metro, Orion, and Ludwig — to honor the DUW 3001 as one of the most significant technological milestones in the history of NOMOS. The Ludwig “neomatik champagner” reference 281 features a galvanized champagne gold dial and vivid neon orange accents, preserving the brand’s iconic minimalist design while introducing a more expressive use of color. Its polished 36mm stainless steel tripartite case is emblematic of the Ludwig family, shaped to resemble a very flat pebble with a slender bezel and lugs shaped to sit flush against the wrist.

This special edition reference 281 is virtually identical to the current reference 283, differing in its neon orange “neomatik” dial text and the “neomatik 1st edition” inscription on the caseback.

This watch is in great condition, showing minor signs of modest wear including light scratches, some scuffs, and a few tiny dings. The movement is running properly with all functions operating as intended. Additional photos and timegrapher results are available on request.

This watch comes as a complete set with its original box, instruction manual, microfiber cleaning cloth, and warranty papers dated to May 2025.

The first edition models were produced only in 2015, though this example was purchased by the previous owner in 2025, potentially as leftover inventory from the authorized dealer. After reviewing the watch details and warranty card, NOMOS service has confirmed via email that the factory warranty is active and will be honored. Accordingly, this watch is covered under warranty until May 2027.
