First introduced in 1992, the Tangente quickly established itself as one of modern watchmaking's most recognizable designs, pairing a clean, balanced dial with a geometric case in uncompromising adherence to the Bauhaus principle of “form follows function.”

The Tangente neomatik reference 187.S1 builds upon this celebrated formula while elevating both its technical sophistication and visual appeal. This watch is unmistakably Tangente, defined by a perfectly round and remarkably slim case set against sharp, angular lugs — a silhouette the brand famously describes as “the round watch with the many right angles.” Unlike the original Tangente, the galvanized, white silver-plated dial introduces subtle bursts of color through a cyan blue five-minute track and vibrant red seconds hand. Legibility is central to the dial’s design, with oxidized black hour and minute hands and five black numerals rendered in the Tangente’s distinctive Bauhaus typography heightening its stark contrast, while the absence of a central seconds hand preserves the watch face’s clean aesthetic and keeps the focus squarely on clarity.

Though the Tangente's external design has not deviated much in three decades, beneath the surface of this Tangente neomatik lies the revolutionary in-house DUW 3001 automatic caliber, an engineering achievement measuring just 3.2 millimeters in height.
