The Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days Automatic PAM00572 was one of the first models to debut the P.4000 caliber, Panerai’s inaugural in-house movement featuring an off-center micro-rotor. The bi-directionally winding tungsten rotor is recessed into the plane of the top plate, allowing the automatic movement to measure just 3.95mm thick. Its innovative design, defined by horizontally brushed finishing and a twin-supported balance cock, offers a unique aesthetic compared to more traditional Swiss calibers. Thanks to this architecture, the watch achieves a notably slim 12.2mm profile despite its bold 45mm size. True to the Radiomir models originally requested by the Italian Navy in 1940, the case presents a distinct curved, cushion-shaped silhouette with broader lugs that complements Panerai’s iconic “sandwich” dial with recessed patina-inspired luminous indexes.

This watch is in good condition, showing minor signs of normal wear including scratches and dings on the case. These marks appear more pronounced in the camera’s macro shots than in everyday wear. The movement is running properly with all functions operating as intended. Measured on a timegrapher in a neutral position, the watch recorded excellent results, gaining 4–5 seconds per day with an amplitude of approximately 280 degrees and no beat error. There is some small debris visible beneath the caseback, particularly near the micro-rotor, though it is not affecting the movement’s operation. Additional photos are available on request.
